It's all systems go here on the Suck Valley Way as we continue to plan the BioBlitz that we are hosting on June 7th and 8th here in the Visitors Centre in Athleague and surrounding villages. The Bioblitz will be officially launched by Eanna Ni lamhna at the Visitors Centre in Athleague at 4.30 pm on Friday 7th June. There will be entertainment and refreshments available.
So all you budding Citizen Scientists, how do you fancy checking out the Bats that live under or near the bridge in beautiful Castlecoote, well come along to the "Bat talk" hosted by Niall Cribbon in the Castlecoote community hall at 9.30 pm on Friday 7th June and immediately afterwards take a "Bat walk" led by David Fallon down the road to the bridge to see and identify some of the bats that you will just have heard Niall speak about. Do you fancy going on an Expert-led “Dawn Chorus” walk from Donamon Castle through the woods to Castlecoote where you will learn to identify all the bird species that inhabit that area… well, all you need to do is arrive at the castle at 5.30 AM on Saturday 8th June and join us on the walk?
