The space

This 1950s home is revamped with a mix of modern/mid 20th Century and a nod to the past. The interior is spacious, homely and brightly lit with great views of unspoiled farmland. The house is renovated with a modern kitchen, newly fitted out with all you need to cook up a storm. Its a fun space to cook in, just remember to crank up the radiogram. For a relaxing night in wind down by a warm fire in the living room, which features an original old Irish crane and hanging cast iron teapot. We have supplied some board games to bring out your competitive side.

The house has a choice of three unique bedrooms (two Double and one King size bed) and two spacious bathrooms.

Fuerty/Castlecoote is steeped in history and Irish folklore. Just 3.5 miles you can visit the prehistoric La Tène stone dating back to The Iron Age. Along the way, you will pass the resting place of Diarmuid and Gráinne (a famous Irish legend) and Fuerty cemetery with graves dating back to the 1700s.

During your stay why not get involved in the Suck Valley Walk, take in a round of golf, catch your dinner in the River Suck (and throw it back in) or try your luck at the Roscommon Races.

Guest access

The house is all yours with a private garden and bbq hut at the back. The only intruder will be a very friendly pony looking into the kitchen window for some treats and the local rabbits looting the garden.

Interaction with guests

I am not always present during your stay but my dad and brother live beside The Green Cow. If you have any problems you can give them a call.

Other things to note
